How does SpeedRa Web Booster work?
SpeedRa accelerates your Internet access through proprietary
text and image compression, content caching and other network
optimizations.

Will I benefit from using SpeedRa Web Booster?
YES! SpeedRa speeds up web page access on any Internet connection. The
process works regardless of your current speed.

What types of content does SpeedRa Web Booster speed up?
SpeedRa Web Booster significantly speeds up web page
access. To achieve this speed up, proprietary lossless
compression is applied to text, html, xml, javascript and style
sheets. Proprietary image compression is applied to gif images,
jpeg images and Flash content.
SpeedRa also accelerates email traffic (POP3 and SMTP)using lossless
compression.
SpeedRa does NOT speed up file downloads (over FTP or file
sharing programs), streaming audio/video and HTTPS (secure web
sites).
Note: Your internet connection icon WILL NOT show a speed change.
To see your speed increase check the SpeedRa statistics.

You will be provided with a location to download the SpeedRa Web Booster installer once you have purchased the service.

3. Using SpeedRa Web Booster

How do I start SpeedRa Web Booster?
SpeedRa Web Booster is launched automatically every time Windows starts. You do not have to launch it manually unless you have disabled the auto launch feature. You can launch
SpeedRa from the START menu.
A SpeedRa Web Booster icon appears in the Windows system
tray to show that it is operating in the background.

How do I change the image quality for a
particular image?
Right-clicking on an image within Internet Explorer and selecting
"Show Original Image" allows you to view the original image.
Selecting "Show All Original Images" allows you to view all
original images on the entire web page.

How do I change the image quality setting
for all images?
Right-click on the SpeedRa Web Booster taskbar icon and
select "Settings". Select the "Image Quality" tab.
Adjust the slider bar to the desired image quality setting. Press OK
to save the changes.

How do I use Internet Explorer with SpeedRa Web Booster?
Internet Explorer is automatically configured to use SpeedRa Web Booster. Use Internet Explorer as you normally would.

How do I use other browsers with SpeedRa Web Booster?
Netscape Navigator is automatically configured to use SpeedRa Web Booster. Use Netscape as you normally would.
For other browsers such as Opera and Mozilla, SpeedRa Web Booster works with any web browser that allows you to specify an
HTTP proxy. You must set the HTTP proxy host to be
"127.0.0.1" and the port number to be the local listening
port of the SpeedRa Client (5400 by default). Consult your
browser's documentation for information on how this can be done.

Does SpeedRa Web Booster speed up
email access?
Yes, SpeedRa automatically accelerates your email traffic (POP3
and SMTP) for all popular email clients such as Eudora, Outlook,
Outlook Express and Netscape Mail. Other email clients
should work transparently as well.

Does SpeedRa Web Booster speed up
my secure (HTTPS) transactions such as web banking?
SpeedRa Web Booster does not accelerate secure
transactions. Secure web sites will continue to work by
bypassing the acceleration component.

What operating systems can SpeedRa Web Booster be installed on?
SpeedRa Web Booster can be installed on any of the
following operating systems:
- Windows 95b w/ Winsock2
- Windows 98
- Windows 98SE
- Windows Millennium Edition (Windows ME)
- Windows NT 4.0
- Windows 2000
- Windows XP
SpeedRa Web Booster requires at least Internet Explorer 4.0
and Netscape 4.0 or any later version of either browser.
Note that the SpeedRa Email Booster requires
Windows 98 and above, and that the SpeedRa Pop-up Blocker
component requires Internet Explorer 5.0 and above.
Newer versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer are available free of
charge through Microsoft.
For Windows 95 users: Currently, Microsoft does not permit Windows
95 users to install Internet Explorer 6 or greater, however, Internet
Explorer 5.5 is available.

What system requirements are necessary to
use SpeedRa Web Booster?
The recommended system requirements for SpeedRa Web Booster are a Pentium 200MHz with 64MB of RAM and at least 5MB of hard-disk
space.
Regardless, SpeedRa Web Booster will work within your
current system configuration to provide you with the best content
acceleration.
